چکیده
Agronomic biofortification of crops is a promising approach that can improve the nutritional value staple foods by alleviating dietary micronutrient deficiencies. Iodine deficiency prevalent in many countries, including Australia, but it not clear what foliar application strategies will be effective for iodine fortification grain. This study hypothesised combining adjuvants with sprays would penetration wheat, leading to more efficient grains. The glasshouse experiment included total nine treatments, three reference controls: 1) Water; 2) potassium iodate (KIO 3 ) and 3) chloride (KCl); series six different non-ionic surfactant or oil-based adjuvants: 4) KIO + BS1000; 5) Pulse ® Penetrant; 6) Uptake ; 7) Hot-Up 8) Hasten 9) Synerterol Horti Oil. Wheat was treated at heading, again during early milk growth stage. Adding organosilicon-based adjuvant (Pulse spray formulation resulted significant increase grain loading 1269 µg/kg compared non-adjuvant control 231µg/kg, water KCl controls (both 51µg/kg). second most Oil, which increased significantly 450µg/kg. , BS1000, did affect concentrations relative control. Importantly, subsequent had no effects on biomass production yield controls. These results indicate play an important role agronomic practices, products have great potential enhance resulting higher translocation rate foliar-applied grains, required density grains effectively.

Distribution of gluten proteins in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) grain.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Gluten proteins are the major storage protein fraction in the mature wheat grain. They are restricted to the starchy endosperm, which forms white flour on milling, and interact during grain development to form large polymers which form a continuous proteinaceous network when flour is mixed with water to give dough. This network confers viscosity and elasticity to the dough, ...
متن کاملSingle-nucleotide polymorphism frequency in a set of selected lines of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.).
Information on single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in hexaploid bread wheat is still scarce. The goal of this study was to detect SNPs in wheat and examine their frequency. Twenty-six bread wheat lines from different origins worldwide were used. Specific PCR-products were obtained from 21 genes and directly sequenced. SNPs were discovered from the alignment of these sequences. The overall se...

Proteomic approaches were applied in four grain developmental stages of the Chinese bread wheat Yunong 201 and its ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) mutant line Yunong 3114. 2-DE and tandem MALDI-TOF/TOF-MS analyzed proteome characteristics during middle and late grain development of the Chinese bread wheat Yunong 201 and its EMS mutant line Yunong 3114 with larger grain sizes. We identified 130 dif...
متن کاملMicrobial-enhanced Selenium and Iron Biofortification of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)--Applications in Phytoremediation and Biofortification.
Selenium (Se) is an essential trace element for humans and other mammals. Most dietary Se is derived from crops. To develop a Se biofortification strategy for wheat, the effect of selenate fertilization and bacterial inoculation on Se uptake and plant growth was investigated. YAM2, a bacterium with 99% similarity to Bacillus pichinotyi, showed many plant growth promoting characteristics. Inocul...
متن کاملAssociation Analysis of Grain-setting Rates in Apical and Basal Spikelets in Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)
The rates of grain-setting in apical and basal spikelets in wheat directly affect the kernel number per spike (KNPS). In this study, 220 wheat lines from 18 Chinese provinces and five foreign countries were used as a natural population. Phenotypic analysis showed differences in grain-setting rates between apical and basal spikelets. The broad-sense heritability of grain-setting rate in apical s...
